The part of the floor pan where the battery sits is often severely damaged by leaking battery acid or by moisture collecting under the battery. Two sizes of battery tray are available for the Volkswagen Beetle. The overview below lists all available sheet-metal parts beneath the battery.

400888 : 38 x 27 cm with battery holder (other side = 400895)
404888 : 37 x 89 cm with battery holder (other side = 400895)
* if you only need the flat part, it can also be used after 8/1972
