In the early 1970s, Cosmic Car Accessories Ltd. launched the Cosmic wheel of the same name. The Cosmic wheel was only available in 4 x 130 and 5 x 130 diameter for the Porsche 914 and 911. But since Volkswagen also used the 4 x 130 diameter, the Cosmic was a hit with Porsche and Volkswagen owners. The Cosmic was not in production for long - after two years Cosmic Car Accessories Ltd. disappeared from the VW and Porsche scene. Due to the short production time, there are very few original Cosmic rims. This is partly the reason why Cosmic is a very sought-after rim. It is almost impossible to obtain an original Cosmic rim, but there is a perfect alternative in the form of a reproduction under the name Cosmo. The true connoisseur will be able to recognise the original Cosmic rim with his eyes closed, but for many that is not the most important thing. One of the most exclusive rims ever made is now available to many.
