In the 1960s and 1970s EMPI was one of the best-known wheel manufacturers on the US VW accessory market.

Volkswagen had the Lemmerz wheel, which could be chosen as an option when buying a new car. EMPI produced a similar model under the name Sprintstar, which was originally made completely of steel.

An original Sprintstar wheel is hard to find and when you have found one, the price will be very high. That is why this popular wheel appeared on the market as a reproduction made of high-quality aluminium, supplied with hubcap and valve.
