In most restorations the headliner has to be replaced. In many cases replacement is the only way to make the interior look like new. There are only a few old cars that still have a headliner with intact colour.

Before fitting a new headliner, be careful and well prepared and do not try to fit it in a couple of hours - take your time. If you are not fitting it yourself, entrust the work to a specialist, then you can be sure your headliner is fitted correctly and without damage or creases.

The headliner mentioned here is of the highest possible quality and equal to the original. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, we also have one, but it is only available for the Beetle sedan. B-quality headliners are universally usable for many years and are easy to fit. The colour and unfortunately also the type of fabric differ from the original.

If you want a perfect headliner, choose the tailor-made headliner mentioned here. It requires more craftsmanship, but the end result is also as it should be.

For the Beetle convertible and all other VW models we do not have B-quality, only the headliner that meets professional standards.

All headliners are supplied without bows, damping felt or insulation package, and without the spray adhesive required for fitting. You can buy these separately in our shop.

Except for the convertible version, the number of clips required is stated for each headliner. If these are missing or bent through improper removal, you can buy them separately in our shop.

Note: The Beetle sedan headliner is available in a deluxe version, meaning that besides the roof section the sides in the B-pillar, the frames around the rear side windows and the part around the rear window are also trimmed. If you have a Beetle where only the roof area is trimmed, this is called a standard Beetle. If you want to fit a deluxe headliner in a standard Beetle, bear in mind that the roof is not designed for this. You will have to fit additional clips, so much more expertise is required.
