The spare wheel well of the Volkswagen Beetle 1200, 1300 and 1500 is often so rusty that holes are visible. If it is still possible, you can replace individual sheet-metal parts, but in many cases it is much easier to replace the complete part.
For the Beetle 1302 and 1303 no separate sheet-metal parts are available; the spare wheel well consists of one piece.
On the European Beetles up to 7/1967, the holes in the front panel above the mounts for the bumper bracket must be closed. On the American versions these are intended for additional bumper brackets.
