The hubcaps are fastened to the wheel. To release them a screwdriver is usually used, which damages the paint on the wheel. There is a special tool that fits into the holes on the side of the hubcap and makes it possible to remove the hubcap from the wheel without damaging it. Volkswagen fitted them as standard in the car''s tool kit for many years. Unfortunately the newest models are no longer fitted with one. If the tool is missing, or if you have bought a new tool kit (09811), please add this as well.

Two deluxe versions are also available, specifically for the Volkswagen Beetle. These are caps that are fitted in the jacking point and in which the hubcap puller is mounted. The face is round in polished stainless steel or polished aluminium in an oval shape with the EMPI logo.
