Fitting Tool Oil Seal Flywheel Side

Fitting tool for the oil seal on the flywheel side.
VW Beetle (except 25 and 30 hp).

CT/CZ engines.

Correct positioning of the crankshaft seal saves a lot of trouble later; nobody wants to do this a second time. So do not take any risk and use the correct tools.

For the crankshaft seal behind the flywheel of Type 1, Type 3, CT or CZ engines, two types of tool are available.

The standard model is intended for engines fitted with the original crankshaft with standard-length dowel pins; this model is also fitted with a clamping bolt.

There is also an extra-deep model for crankshafts with longer dowel pins. With this model you first press the crankshaft seal with the flat part until it touches the dowel pins, then use the other side and press the seal further in. This extra-deep fitting tool is supplied without a clamping bolt; use your flywheel bolt for this.

For Type 4 engines a similar tool is available, but only for the crankshaft seal on the pulley side.
