Rubber Stop Shock Absorber 1302 / 1303 8/73>

Rubber stop / bump stop for the shock absorber.

This rubber stop is fitted in the spring plate and limits the travel when the suspension extends fully. Without this rubber the shock absorber could hit the spring plate with a hard blow, which is not good for the shock absorber or the whole strut.

The rubber stop also holds the cap of the shock absorber, so it serves two functions.

When replacing shock absorbers it is advisable to replace this rubber straight away; in most cases the existing rubber is torn or partly perished.

Caution! Make sure you only replace the rubber: on vehicles up to 7/1973 the steel taper bush often stays stuck in the old rubber during removal - do not forget to transfer it!
