There can be several reasons to replace a screen - the glass is broken, you prefer laminated glass instead of toughened glass, the rear window heater no longer works, or the glass is too badly scratched.

Besides clear glass, some screens are also available tinted. If no two tints are used, as is the case with a sun-shade strip, all the windows of a Volkswagen model have the same tint and therefore do not differ from each other.

All windshields are made of safety glass (laminated glass), even for vehicles from a time when laminated glass did not yet exist. You can easily replace a toughened windshield with a laminated one; for safety reasons this is certainly worth considering, even if it differs from the original.

Note: the heated rear windows must be protected with a stronger fuse than the original, 20 amp instead of 8 amp. The original wiring (1.5 mm2) can handle 24 amp, so it is certainly strong enough.
