This system of pipes is necessary to ensure that the length of the exhaust port to the muffler is the same for each cylinder, to get maximum power out of your exhaust. A power increase of 10% is therefore no exception. The complete exhaust system consists of the header and the muffler, so besides the header you always need a muffler too. All headers are available in black transport paint and the most common ones also come with a ceramic coating. The black transport paint is intended to prevent rust forming in warehouses. If you want to keep the headers black, you have to treat them regularly with heat-resistant paint. As an option you can choose headers with a chrome ceramic coating. Due to the high exhaust temperature of 650C an impenetrable layer against corrosion forms, which extends the service life and lowers the temperature.

Caution: The ceramic layer provides a longer service life but is no guarantee against rust from the inside or outside. If the ceramic layer is damaged, it is not stainless steel.

All headers mentioned here have an inner diameter of 35 mm. Pipes with a larger diameter are also available, but then you end up in a different exhaust segment. A common misconception is the idea that fitting a header exhaust system removes the heater supply. This only applies to motorsport exhaust systems, not to the headers mentioned here. The heat exchanger pipe is pushed directly onto the heat exchanger with a flexible aluminium pipe (instead of first onto the intermediate box as originally usual).

The headers are supplied with gaskets, mounting hardware and a flexible heater hose. It is recommended to buy an extra hose in case only one is supplied.

If you already have a muffler, check the distance between the mounting holes of the muffler; this must be around 58 mm and the upper mounting hole must be at 1 o''clock (except for Type 3, which is at 11 o''clock). If these details are correct, it is still not certain whether the muffler will fit your existing headers. We therefore recommend ordering a matching muffler straight away, so that you are at least sure of having a matching exhaust combination.
