J-Tubes Black / Transport Paint

J-tube, black transport paint.

Type 1 / VW Beetle engines (except USA injection engines and 30 hp engines).

If you have no heat exchangers, or if you need a little more power, you can leave out the heat exchangers. With these J-tubes you replace existing heat exchangers. These J-tubes are available in black transport paint, chrome steel or stainless steel.

Black transport paint
This J-tube is not fitted with brackets to fasten the tin under the cylinders. The diameter of the tube is 35 mm, which matches the original exhaust system.
Caution: The black transport paint is intended to protect the metal from rust while stored in our warehouses. It will largely come off immediately after use. If you want the heat exchanger replacements to stay black, they must be treated regularly with heat-resistant paint.

Chrome
On this version the tin supports, with which the tin can be fastened, are present and also chrome-plated. The tube diameter is the same as that of the black tubes, i.e. 35 mm.

Stainless steel
Depending on the engine they are intended for, they have a tube diameter of 32 or 38 mm. They are mainly used on high-performance engines, where the additional exhaust system also uses this tube diameter. Except for the 25 and 30 hp models, special adapters for the dropped stainless steel exhaust are included. If you use these for a different exhaust system, remember that the exhaust system must have a flange connection.
