To ensure safety, Volkswagen mainly used solid fuel lines instead of flexible hoses. For example, on many models there is a fuel line from the chassis to the fuel pump, and on older models also a line from the fuel pump to the carburettor.

For most Volkswagen Beetle engines these lines are available new, including the required connection fittings where applicable.
