One of the most important parts of the Volkswagen Beetle body are the tube members, also called heater channels. This is not only a structural part, but also transports the hot air from the rear of the car to the front on most Volkswagen Beetles.

These tube members are available as a whole, but also in individual parts. A number of adapters are also available.

The tube members fitted up to 12/1946 have no holes for the heating.

The tubular members from 1/1947 up to and including 12/1953 do have heating holes, but no continuous heat tube. This was only fitted from 1/1954 onwards to achieve higher efficiency. These members are also called "round members" and are very popular with professional restorers.

The Volkswagen Beetle convertibles have an additional reinforcement member at the lower end of the tube member, because the convertible does not have the strength of a saloon''s roof construction.
