The trunk lid of the Volkswagen Beetle is difficult to close if it has too many dents or is extremely rusty; then a new lid is the best solution.

If you want to fit an old-type trunk lid (long lid up to 7/1967) to a later Volkswagen Beetle, this is only possible for the 1200, 1300 and 1500 models, provided that the front panel is also replaced by an old model with the corresponding lock and trunk lever.

The trunk lids up to 7/1967 and those of the Volkswagen 1303 Beetle are identical to the original with holes for the trim strip, while the trunk lids for the 1200, 1300 and 1500 Volkswagen Beetle from 8/1967 onwards have no trim strip. If you want to fit a trim strip, drill the holes for the trim strip before the trunk lid has been painted.

Attention: These trunk lids are a reproduction of the original; they may differ in fit. It may therefore be necessary to adjust or align the lid with workshop tools. First fit, then paint. Sanded or painted trunk lids cannot be returned. In the event of a possible return of the lid, the return shipping costs must be borne by yourself.
