The most vulnerable part of a convertible is the top, which wears over the years or is the target of vandalism.

We only use high-quality convertible tops. The fabric is also used by Mercedes and Porsche, so the quality of these convertible tops is better than that used by Volkswagen at the time. The fit is very precise due to the exact dimensions and therefore adapts perfectly to the roof frame and the body, without the top leaking or rattling.

Just like the original, we have two types: a top made of vinyl (also called PVC top), which Volkswagen normally supplies as standard, and a deluxe top made of linen (fabric). These were supplied as standard in the 1950s and were later available as an option.

The colours are the same as those supplied by Volkswagen, although we have not included all colours in our range. If you want a colour not listed, in most cases you can order it as a special order. Please allow a delivery time of about 2 months.

We are only talking here about the outer convertible tops. Headliners, insulation packages, etc. are available separately in our shop.

On Volkswagen Beetle convertibles the rear window is not cut out; this only has to be done with the top fitted. On the Karmann Ghia convertible tops with plastic rear window, the glass is already built into the top, similar to the original.
