Protective cap alternator.
Cover rubber for the alternator connections.
Sold each.
VW Beetle - from 8/70 onwards.
Type 14 Karmann Ghia - from 8/70 onwards.

From the early 1970s Volkswagen realised that the alternator connections lay unprotected in the engine bay, which could lead to unpleasant incidents. Both the DF and the D+ connection were fitted with a protective rubber that also served as moisture protection.

Due to the heat of the engine these rubbers dry out after some time, which is why on many alternators these rubbers are no longer present.

These rubber seals can only be used on DC generators.
