At every engine rebuild all bearings have to be replaced, and this also applies to the connecting rod bearings.

Care must be taken that the connecting rod parts always stay together and that the connecting rods do not differ from each other by more than 5 grams. Check the crankshaft for irregularities, preferably by running your nail over the bearing journal. If you find any irregularities, the crankshaft has to be machined.

To quickly determine the correct size without special measuring tools, an easy-to-use measuring tool has been developed for a number of engines; please add this if needed (if available for the engine).
