On the rocker arm shaft there are not only the rocker arms, but also the mounting foot rings and spacers. The assembly is fastened on both sides with a clip that drops over the rocker arm into the intended recess. These clips are made of spring steel, which loses its clamping force over the years and in the worst case can break off spontaneously, with all the associated consequences. If you want to avoid every risk during your overhaul work, replace these clips.
