Adapter bushes for the oil cooler.

From August 1970 Volkswagen made a large part of its crankcases universal, meaning they could be used for 1200 as well as 1300 and 1600 engines. For production and financial reasons it was attractive that the same crankcase could be used for all engines.
Some adjustments were necessary, including the mounting of the oil cooler for 1200cc engines. On the 1200cc engines both the oil cooler and the crankcase had an M6 thread.
To allow the fitting of a 1200cc oil cooler with M6 bolts, bushes were developed that clamp into the holes for the 8 mm bolts.
