The most luxurious versions of the Volkswagen used an open roof or a convertible top, an option that was especially popular in hot regions. The first opening roof consisted of a fabric sliding roof, which at the end of the 1964 model year was replaced by a metal sliding roof for the export Volkswagen Beetle. For the standard Volkswagen Beetle this sliding roof was still available until 1967.

The sliding roof is guided by an aluminum rail set into the roof, which allows the roof to open and close easily. If this causes problems, the cause may be deformation of the rail or excessive corrosion. The rail is shaped to match the curvature of the roof. Once deformed, it becomes very difficult to bring it back into the correct shape. These new rails offer the solution.

The set is identical to the original and consists of 4 parts.

Do not forget to also order the guide roller repair set (4002845). Because if the rails need renewing, these parts are usually worn as well.
