Bumper overriders were available as a luxury feature on the Volkswagen Beetle models, while on the Karmann Ghia they were fitted as standard up to 7/1971.

The overriders are intended to protect the bumper in small collisions, but nowadays they are often fitted as an extra accessory to preserve the classic look. For the Karmann Ghia only one model is available, while for the Volkswagen Beetle three models are available depending on the model year and/or bumper.

Warning: With chrome-plated bumper overriders it is always necessary to maintain them properly. If you neglect maintenance, rust can form. With stainless steel overriders this is not the case. You can be sure that these will never rust. Due to the additional chrome layer applied, there is no noticeable difference between stainless steel and steel.
