Reinforced jack support.
VW Beetle saloon.
Karmann Ghia.

VW Type 181 (Thing).

A stronger variant of the original jack support is this reinforced version, originally used by Volkswagen during production of the Brazilian Volkswagen Beetle from 1971.

Strangely enough this was only used in Brazil, even though it was a big improvement in rigidity.

If you also want a stronger jack support without relying on the specific Volkswagen jack, this reinforced version is definitely recommended.

Remove the existing jacking point by drilling out the spot welds and weld the reinforced version to the reinforced part where your existing jacking point was previously attached.

All jacks placed under a body edge, as is the case with most cars, can be used, as can most garage jacks.
