The master brake cylinder is mounted through the so-called "Napoleon hat" (chassis crossmember). The Napoleon hat has a double plating with a few centimeters of empty space. The master brake cylinder is fitted and fixed through both plates. Between the plate sections there are spacer sleeves. Without these, the plate would press in when tightening the master brake cylinder and you could not fasten it properly. On many cars the spacer sleeves between the two sheet-metal parts are rusted. If you have lost the spacer sleeves or they are too badly rusted, you must renew them. This fitting set contains not only the correct sleeves, but also the bolts and spring washers to fasten the master brake cylinder.
