VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and VW Thing:

On these Volkswagens it is a bush located directly behind the gear lever in the tunnel. A worn guide bush can be recognised by the irritating clicking of the gear lever. Replacing this bush requires some patience. It is best to remove the shift rod from the front of the car. It is possible through the hole in the gear lever, but you cannot easily reach it.

Volkswagen T25/T3 Bus: The shift rod is guided at several points. For this purpose there is a set with the various parts for the years from 1/1958, some of which are also available separately in our shop. You will not use the entire set, as it covers several years and several models of VW Bus. This is explained in more detail below.

VW Bus from 1/1958 to 1961 (chassis no. 835 087):
If you want to replace all parts, you need an additional umbrella-shaped guide besides the set.

VW Bus from 1961 (chassis no. 835 088) to 7/1967:
If you want to replace all parts, you need two sets, of which you can only use one umbrella-shaped bush from the second set; this bush is not available separately.

VW Panorama Bus:
The set is enough to replace all parts; the front bush for the years from 8/1973 is also available separately.

VW Vanagon/T3:
Here the shift rods are more complex than in earlier generations. The parts are not available in a set, but separately.
