The clutch cable is fastened to the clutch fork lever with a double nut. In later years it is fastened with a wing nut. Replacement of this lever is only necessary if the lever is warped or so badly rusted that the keyways have been damaged (the latter is not very common). When fitting a different gearbox, make sure the lever is the same length as your old gearbox. If not, transfer your old lever or order a new one.
