Sudden failure of the release shaft occurs regularly. The main cause is the failure of the clutch release bearing due to age or very intensive use. Never keep driving if you hear the humming of the clutch release bearing when the clutch is pressed, which indicates a worn bearing that can cause serious damage if it comes loose from the clutch fork.

Always replace the clutch release bearing together with the pressure plate and the clutch disc. It can be assumed that when the clutch disc wears, sooner or later the pressure plate and the bearing will follow.

When replacing the release shaft it is necessary to remove the clutch lever.

The clutch fork is supplied without mounting hardware. Order this addition if needed. This mounting hardware is available for 16 mm shafts as original, or with a bronze bearing bush. For 20 mm shafts you have no choice; this is only available with a bronze bush.
