Split Pin Rear Axle Nuts

Split pin for the rear axle castle nuts.

Every time the brake drum is removed, it is necessary to renew the split pin. This ensures that the nut is secured, so that the nut can never come loose further than the split pin. A loosening nut almost always means it is not secured at the correct tightening torque. Check the correct tightening torque in your workshop manual and never tighten the nut at random. The dimensions are stated as an extra, in case you want to use the split pin for another purpose.
