Not every port on the master brake cylinder is used. Whether a second brake light switch, an extra line outlet or a connection for the warning light - whatever stays free has to be closed off cleanly and liquid-tight. That is exactly what this screw plug does.

Why the port has to be sealed

An open or leaking port on the master brake cylinder leads to brake fluid loss and therefore to a pressure drop in the brake system. As this is a safety-relevant component, every port that is not needed should be reliably closed off. The screw plug seals via the matching sealing seat and can be undone again if needed.

Does this screw plug fit my system?

The plug is intended for the classic VW master brake cylinders. Before ordering, check the thread and seat on your cylinder, as different single- and dual-circuit systems were fitted over the years.
