Up to a displacement of 1679 cc you can use standard cylinder heads in terms of dimensions; above that the heads have to be machined to the dimensions of the cylinders. You can unscrew your existing cylinder heads, but think carefully: after all, your goal is more engine power, and that will never work with standard valves. On top of that, original cylinder heads are designed for a maximum of 50 hp; you can imagine that the whole thing is not made to get double the power out of it. Not only in terms of cracks, but also in terms of heat dissipation. In short, using an original cylinder head is not advisable. You will have to make the step to a cylinder head designed for greater engine power and fitted with larger valves. All cylinder heads mentioned here are supplied fully assembled. You will find more information in the explanation. Read it carefully to make a well-considered decision.

Note: A cylinder head undergoes many treatments during which iron chips are released, so flush the cylinder head thoroughly to make sure no chips remain.

All cylinder heads listed below are suitable if the basis for your engine is a Type 1, Type 3 or CT/CZ engine with dual port.

EMPI belongs to the very small group of suppliers that do not use the Autolinea base cylinder head, but make it 100% in-house from casting to final machining. The EMPI cylinder head therefore stands head and shoulders above all other brands (which use the Autolinea base cylinder head). The GTV-2 cylinder heads can be fitted directly; combustion chamber machining, intake and exhaust ports, grinding and even reworking of the valve seats is not required. EMPI assumes that everyone should be able to assemble their head successfully, not just professionals equipped with a wide range of machines. The professional will certainly prefer the EMPI GTV-2 to all other brands; the time saved with EMPI heads is in stark contrast to the higher price.
