If there is too much play between the valves and the valve guides, the valve guides are worn. This leads to excessive oil consumption and can even cause the valve to break. Replacing the valve guides is the only solution.

The new valve guides must be pressed into the cylinder head and, if necessary, adjusted to the correct size. Valve guides are available for both the inlet and the exhaust and in various oversizes.
