Gooseneck Mirror (Albert Style)

"Albert" was an accessory manufacturer in the 1950s and 1960s. Since the Volkswagen Beetle was very present on the roads at that time, most accessories were also available for this car. The "gooseneck" mirrors, fitted at the front of the chrome trim strip, were the most original type of accessory of that period. The largest market for these mirrors at the time was the Scandinavian countries. If you can find these in good condition, bring a full wallet, they are extremely expensive. But for those who cannot find the original or are looking for an affordable Albert mirror, this reproduction, identical to the original, is the solution.

The gooseneck mirrors are partly mounted on the first section of the trim strip, so they only fit when wide trim strips are used, as was originally the case on Beetles up to and including 7/1966.

You have to drill a hole to fasten the mirror. The mirror rests on the trim strip and holds it straight.

The glass is mounted on a spring, intended to prevent vibrations while driving, but in practice this is not very effective. An Albert gooseneck mirror is used for its classic look and not so much for extra comfort, although it reduces the blind spot.

The mirror is supplied with mounting hardware and the rubber underneath.
