An ignition coil deteriorates slightly over the years. Our ignition coils deliver a more powerful secondary voltage. Therefore it is not only necessary to replace the ignition coil in the event of a defective coil, but replacing an old, still-working coil also gives the spark plugs a stronger spark.

Note: There is a difference between ignition coils for conventional ignition (contact points) and for engines factory-fitted with electronic ignition. An ignition coil intended for conventional ignition cannot be used for engines with electronic ignition. An exception are engines later converted to electronic ignition or fitted with a 123 ignition; they continue to use an ignition coil intended for conventional ignition.
