Interval control on the windshield wipers is indispensable today, but it used to be a luxury.

The introduction of a control unit that periodically moves the windshield wipers (interval control) gave the driver much peace of mind, but unfortunately the Volkswagen Beetle had to wait for it until 1986. For VW Bus owners the interval control was fitted as standard with the introduction of the third generation.

If you want to have the windshield wipers wipe at a set interval, while this is not standard now, you can consider fitting this interval relay. The wiring diagram is stated on the relay.

The VW model and model year mentioned refer to the situation when Volkswagen fitted this relay as standard.
