The overhaul of the engine includes, among others, the following operations:

• Careful inspection and cleaning of the crankcase.
• Inspection and, if necessary, replacement of all wear parts of the crankcase.
• Fitting of a new crankshaft.
• Reconditioned or new connecting rods.
• New connecting rod bearing bushes.
• New reinforced main bearing set.
• New drive gear on the crankshaft.
• New cam followers.
• New oil pump including oil pump cover.
• New flywheel.
• New piston and cylinder set.
• New piston rings.
• New cylinder heads, on which the valves are checked for tightness before assembly.
• New stainless steel pushrod tubes.
• New gaskets, crankcase cover, valve covers with brackets and spark plugs.
• Reconditioned rocker shaft with new valve adjusting screws and nuts, new spring washers and circlips.

If you are looking for a reconditioned engine, you have come to the right place. Standard overhaul engines consist of the so-called "rotating part": the complete case with cylinders and cylinder heads. The rest of the engine build must be transferred from the old engine and must be carried out by an experienced mechanic with good knowledge of the air-cooled Volkswagen engine. Incorrect assembly and/or setting can lead to considerable engine damage, which is not covered by our 2-year warranty. All overhaul engines are suitable for unleaded petrol; driving on LPG is at your own risk and voids any warranty. Quality over quantity fully applies to our overhaul engines: crankcase align-bored, original or new crankshaft, reconditioned or new connecting rods, new steel-backed bearings, new camshaft (for 1600cc), new drive pinion, cam followers, oil pump, flywheel, piston and cylinder sets, cylinder heads (leak-tested), stainless steel pushrod tubes, new gaskets and reconditioned rocker shafts. The engine is fully assembled with a special synthetic assembly paste to ensure proper lubrication at first start. The compression ratio is calculated separately for each cylinder.
