When the clearance between the piston pin and connecting rod bearing approaches the wear limit of 0.04 mm, both the piston pin and the connecting rod bearing must be replaced.
Many then opt for a complete piston and cylinder set to replace everything at once, even though this may not be necessary. If the piston and cylinder are otherwise within wear limits, replacing the piston pin with a new connecting rod bearing (and possibly a set of new piston rings) will suffice.
Remember that connecting rod bearing replacement is not a "plug and play" operation. After the bearing is pressed in, it must be ground to the correct size.
