The best way to maximize cylinder cooling is to use a Porsche style fan. This is normally used to cool an air cooled 6 cylinder. You can imagine that this is more than enough for our 4-cylinder, a Porsche fan cools about 6 times as much, so cooling problems will never happen again.

The following adjustments are necessary to replace your existing cooling system with a Porsche 911 cooling system.

Type 1 engines and Type 3 engines:

• Your entire cooling plate will be replaced with a Porsche style cooling plate.
• The radiator fan will be replaced with a Porsche style radiator fan with alternator.
• The radiator fan is mounted with the mounting kit specifically for Type 1 engines.
• The fuel pump is replaced with an electric fuel pump.
• The oil cooler is removed and the oil must now be cooled with an external oil cooler.
• It is necessary to mount side-mounted carburetors.
• A modified throttle rod system that runs along the back of the cooling box (instead of the front).
