Holding Clip Quarter Light

Holding clips for quarter light (vent window).

VW Beetle sedan 8/64 and later.

The vent window is fitted at the front and top of the door rebate and rests on a horizontal reinforcement in the lower part of the door.

If the frame of the vent window rested directly on the horizontal door reinforcement, this could cause annoying clicking noises while driving. Therefore a plastic clip is fitted on the underside of the frame, connecting the quarter light frame to the horizontal door reinforcement. Many people are not aware of the existence of this holding clip; if the clip is still present and can be removed when dismantling the frame, few restorers know where it comes from. The quarter light is then fitted without a clip and therefore without any support.
