On most VW models the floor is fitted as standard with rubber mats instead of carpet. You can replace these with carpets to create a more luxurious interior, but you can also keep the original.

Rubber floor mats are much stronger than carpets, but over the years they too will show defects that make the whole interior look unsightly. When you get in, this is the first thing you notice - replace the worn mats.

New mats are not available for all models, but if you own a Volkswagen Beetle or a Volkswagen Bus, there is a good chance you can fit the entire interior with new rubber mats. All mats are intended for left-hand drive Volkswagens.
