Accelerator pedal with roller, billet style.
VW Beetle - from 1/66 onwards.
Type 14 Karmann Ghia - from 1/66 onwards.
VW Type 3 - from 1964 onwards.
This accelerator pedal was fitted as standard in the Volkswagen Beetle in the 1950s. This version has a much larger roller intended to allow precise throttle control.
It takes some getting used to, but after a while you would not want to be without it. This type of accelerator pedal is much more direct, which improves driving comfort. The pedal rod is chrome-plated, while the roller is available in black plastic or aluminium. The latter not only looks much more solid, but also greatly enhances the interior, especially if you have fitted several aluminium accents in the cabin.
Caution: For years older than stated below, you should use a throttle cable from a later year (with a hook connection instead of an eye connection). Take the universal extra long throttle cable, which can be cut to the correct length. Suitable for both left- and right-hand drive cars (on right-hand drive cars the roller has to be turned).
Applicable from:
Beetle from 1/1966 onwards *
Karmann Ghia from 1/1966 onwards *
Type 3 from 1964 (chassis number 315 048 102) *
Type 181 (Thing) all years
* for older years see note
