Enormous force is exerted on the bolts used to fasten the drive shafts (CV joints) to the flanges; it is recommended to always replace these and not reuse them. If you do not have the right tool, buy an XZN M8 socket (3481); without this socket you cannot loosen and tighten the bolts in the normal way. It is also advisable to replace the washers, as they hold the bolts in place.

Suitable for all models with intermediate shafts.
The XZN bolts are sold per 6 pieces, which is enough for one side (one CV joint).

CV joints only apply if your car is fitted with independent rear suspension, better known as IRS. If you are not sure which rear axle is fitted, check whether you have drive sleeves on both the wheel side and the gearbox side, then you are dealing with intermediate shafts or IRS. If you have them only on the gearbox side, then you are dealing with swing axles. The only exception to this rule is the T25 Syncro bus, which also has drive shafts with CV joints at the front.
