Fuel pressure regulator.
The original fuel pump delivers the correct pressure to an original carburettor. If a larger carburettor is fitted, in most cases the standard fuel pump will not be able to handle the delivery, leading to under-filling and engine trouble. A higher-capacity fuel pump should be considered; it is only available in electric form.
The pressure delivered by these fuel pumps is in most cases higher than the desired pressure, so the float chamber can overflow. Problems that can occur with an overflowing float chamber are: poor starting after a short break, constant change in the CO content and/or idle speed, and the need to adjust the idle speed regularly.
It is therefore recommended to fit a pressure regulator when installing an electric fuel pump. With this pressure regulator the fuel pressure can be regulated in 10 positions from 0 to maximum. Use a pressure gauge to check the pressure. The regulator has 1/8-27 NPT swivel connections on the inlet and outlet side; add hose connectors (available separately in our shop).
Caution: This regulator can handle a maximum pressure of 0.62 bar (9 PSI), so the warranty on leaks is excluded; it is not possible to trace afterwards what pressure the regulator was exposed to.
