If your fuel filter is heavily contaminated, it can restrict the fuel supply so that the engine does not receive enough fuel. You can keep fitting a new filter, but isn't it smarter to renew the tank?

Rust flakes are often the cause of the blockage. Cleaning the tank sometimes helps, but not for long - the metal is simply attacked and causes blockages again within a short time.

If you own a buggy, we recommend using the fuel tank from the 1961 to 1967 model. It is the only tank with the fuel inlet on top and the option to install a fuel float. This tank is also a godsend if you have welded the fuel flap of your Cal-look Beetle shut.

Make sure the underside of the fuel tank is primed against rust. The tank is easily forgotten when the car is given a rust-protection treatment.

Supplied without connections; these may need to be purchased separately. Some tanks come in a black transport paint. In that case, remove the transport paint and spray the tank in the color of your choice.
