Oil Temperature Sensor VDO

VDO oil temperature sensor for oil drain cover.

Replacement for oil strainer cover set (article 5002162).

This sensor is intended for the sensor adapter of Type 4 engines (available separately in our shop). This sensor can also be fitted in the oil filler cap on a Type 1 and CT/CZ engine (drilling and tapping is required), provided you have a VW universal crankcase. If you have an original crankcase in which this hole is not present from the factory, you can still fit this sensor in this position; you have to drill a hole in the crankcase and tap a thread.

Note: Do not fit this sensor on a standard crankcase cover of a Type 1, Type 3 or CT/CZ engine, as you will then hit the oil strainer and close off the oil pickup. This is only possible if you raise the crankcase cover at the location of the drain plug, so there is enough room between the sensor and the oil strainer.
