It often happens that when removing the front shock absorber on the Volkswagen Beetle or the Karmann Ghia from 8.1965, the metal bushing gets stuck on the trailing arm and has to be carefully ground off. This corrosion can also occur on bolted shock absorbers, but in practice this is rarer.

In most cases you will replace the complete shock absorber; if not, you can also replace the bushing and the rubber separately (available separately in our shop).

With the torsion bar it is more or less the same; rust or loss is usually the reason why replacement is necessary.

Note on application:

For the rear shock absorbers of the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and VW Thing, these bushings can only be used if your vehicle is equipped with swing axles. The dimensions of the bushings are additionally stated; please measure them before ordering.

With the torsion bar they apply from chassis number 119 381 001 for the Volkswagen Beetle and chassis number 149 381 001 for the Karmann Ghia.
