Alongside the standard exhaust system there are many sport exhaust systems that produce a fuller sound and give our Volkswagen a sportier look. Fitting a Monza exhaust gives the impression of a high-performance engine at the rear, even though only the exhaust has been replaced.

The Monza has 63 mm thick chrome-plated tailpipes that exit below the engine lid. The design improves the flow compared to the original, which helps to increase engine power.

The Monza for engine Type 1 does not come with the spacer parts that connect the heater hose to the heat exchanger. To still connect the heat exchanger, a flexible aluminium hose is supplied that connects directly to the heat exchanger.

On Type 4 engines this does not apply. These connect directly to the heat exchangers as in the original setup; on fuel-injected engines the complete catalytic converter is omitted.

The gaskets for the exhaust itself are included; for Type 1 engines you still need to order the clamps with the gaskets for mounting to the heat exchanger.

Caution: the black transport paint is intended to prevent rusting in storage; shortly after starting it largely burns off. If you want to keep the exhaust black, you must treat it regularly with heat-resistant paint.
