High engine power requires a high-quality exhaust that does not hinder the power built up but contributes to increasing it. There are many exhaust systems that promise this, but few actually deliver. The Side Winder is at the top of the high-performance exhaust systems suitable for public roads. It fits perfectly and is made of high-grade stainless steel. The pipe length is perfectly matched and the polished muffler has a pyramid shape inside for optimal flow and maximum outlet speed. The muffler is suspended from the exhaust pipe of the first cylinder. The exhaust is made suitable for fitting a lambda sensor, something also not often found on similar systems. The pipe diameter is 41 mm. The sound is deep and dull, as an exhaust should sound, and falls within the legal standards that apply to our cars. It may be obvious that there is no pre-heating. This is only used with a central carburetor (as original), which is not necessary on a race engine. Supplied with mounting hardware and muffler gasket. Order the exhaust gaskets and nuts separately if required, as these are not included.

Attention: only fits Type 1 engines based on a 1300, 1500 or 1600cc engine.

As with all gaskets, the muffler gasket cannot be used a second time. If you need a new gasket, these are available separately.

Since no exhaust gaskets are included, it is advisable to order these directly; due to the fairly large pipe diameter it is advisable to also order brass exhaust nuts. They have a smaller outer size, which makes fitting considerably easier.
