Most dents in the running board trim strips occur when getting into the car, because aluminum is a soft metal. It is not necessary to buy a new running board to replace damaged trim strips. They are available separately in aluminum or polished stainless steel, as are the trim strip clips.

Originally Volkswagen only used aluminum strips, which you can polish, for example, with a copper polish. Aluminum has one big disadvantage: it is a delicate material.

On the earliest Volkswagen the difference is in the model year: profiling of the strips and a difference in width. If you include the strip clips belonging to the strip, you can fit any trim strip to any running board regardless of the model year.

Add additional clips to your order, as these are not included with this strip. The clips can only be used once.
