VW Beetle 1300 | 1600 - from 8/70.

When cooling air escapes, this has two disadvantages: The escaping cooling air can no longer be used to cool the engine and the engine compartment is flooded with heated air. The warm air is then drawn in again for "cooling". To prevent this, each opening is sealed with rubbers or cold plates.

The sealing frame mentioned here is the most commonly forgotten cooling plate and is therefore missing from many engines. Make sure that no cooling air is lost and mount this sealing frame around your oil cooler.
