Push Rod Tubes Adjustable with Spring

Adjustable pushrod tubes.

Type 1 / VW Beetle engines (except 25 and 30 hp).
VW Type 3 engines.

If the stroke of the crankshaft has changed, the original pushrod tubes may no longer adjust in length; in that case the adjustable tubes shown here should be used.

They adjust by extending between the crankcase and cylinder head and are then tightened with nuts to achieve a watertight result. They are also very suitable as a repair to replace tubes without removing the engine or the cylinder heads.

Remove the rocker shaft with the pushrods, remove the tubes and fit the adjustable tubes. If after a while you still detect a leak, tighten the nuts and the problem is solved. Use new seals if necessary.

These adjustable tubes are made of aluminum; an O-ring seal provides the seal between the two parts.

Note: During fitting, make sure the pushrods move freely and do not touch the inside of the tubes, which can happen with some cylinder heads and/or in combination with a modified valve geometry. If this is the case, you can lightly machine the inside of the tubes until the pushrods run freely, but check the thickness of the aluminum.

Note: Do not use in combination with the cylinder deflector plates 32225. These tubes must be fitted so that the blue part faces the crankcase.
