Engine Case 82mm Crankshaft / 96mm Cylinder Bore

Standard engine case made of AS41 alloy (4% magnesium, 1% silicon).
Cylinder bore: 96 mm.
Max. crankshaft stroke: 82 mm.
Type 1 engines (except 25 + 30 hp) - up to 2180cc.
Type 3 engines - up to 2180cc.

These Super-Stock crankcases are made of 100% aluminum, just like the crankcases used on Type 4 engines. The first thing you notice is the weight saving compared to an original crankcase. This much stronger aluminum is intended to prevent the bearing seats from wearing. Dyno tests under extreme conditions have proven that this is indeed the case. Starting with a crankcase that does not require an overhaul is the ideal solution, especially for the engine tuners among us. The crankcase retains its original dimensions.

The crankcase is of the so-called universal type, meaning it is suitable for both Type 1 and Type 3 engines. The cover plate that seals the oil filler neck of a Type 3 engine is included, but also available separately.

The crankcase is supplied without cylinder studs, camshaft sealing plugs, oil pressure tappet springs and locking bolts (available separately in our shop). The crankcase naturally has large oil channels.

Two types of Super-Stock crankcases are available: for a crankshaft with a standard stroke of 69 mm and for a crankshaft up to a stroke of 82 mm. On this latest version, not only is the inside of the crankcase adapted to the longer stroke (small crankcase modifications can still be made). The main oil channel is drilled and threaded, so that an oil filter can be fitted directly after the pump (full flow) and possibly an additional oil cooler. The case is also reinforced on the flywheel side. These crankcases can also be used for a stroke of more than 82 mm, but in that case modification of the crankcase is required.

Note: There are some details that need to be adjusted on these crankcases. Sometimes it is necessary to slightly adjust the gap around the distributor shaft, otherwise it can jam. When using a more efficient camshaft, it may be necessary to remove some material from the oil pump. In addition, a small piece of the sheet metal behind the pulley must be cut off so that it fits properly.
